WHERE IS SANCTUARY CHURCH?
We’re currently meeting at LUX-SF in the Dogpatch neighborhood:
2325 3rd Street, Suite #347
San Francisco, CA 94107
WHERE DO I PARK?
There’s usually ample street parking right behind the venue on Illinois Street.
HOW LONG IS THE SERVICE?
Our services usually last 90 minutes and are over by noon. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and often several of us often like to head to Crane Cove Park for a picnic after the gathering.
WHAT ARE YOUR SERVICES LIKE?
We start by singing 2-3 songs and then one of our members delivers a message based on a passage of the bible.
Because Jesus instructed his followers to regularly receive communion (bread and wine), we will often have a time for this. Finally, we usually end with an opportunity to receive prayer.
If you’re visiting for the first time, you’ll want to give yourself a few extra minutes to grab a coffee before service at our front table. We’d love to meet you, answer any questions you may have and give you a gift.
WHAT IS "POP UP" CHURCH?
Since we’re still in the start-up phase of this church, we don’t yet have weekly services. But, once a month, we come together to celebrate Jesus and learn more about him. Being a “pop up”, we keep things pretty simple… but we hope you’ll find yourself right at home. Our aim is to launch weekly gatherings in the near future.
WHAT ARE YOUR COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS?
In line with current city recommendations, masking is optional during our pop-up services. Since we meet in a studio space with windows overlooking the bay, we’re able to open many windows for enhanced air circulation and ventilation. Per the request and guidelines of the building we meet in, we do ask people to wear a mask in the building common areas (hallways, bathroom, etc.).
DO I HAVE TO [SING / TALK / RECEIVE COMMUNION / PRAY / ETC.]?
Absolutely not! You are our guest and we want you to feel comfortable. There’s freedom to participate in as much or as little of the service as you’d like. If you want to just sit and observe, that’s fine by us. In particular, receiving communion is meant for those who consider themselves followers of Jesus.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Don’t feel like you have to dress up. Most people wear casual attire, but you’re welcome to wear whatever makes you comfortable. Check out our Instagram page to get a feel for what most people wear on Sundays.
