The Thief of Joy
Why is it so easy to lose joy when someone else seems to be doing better than us? In John 3, John the Baptist is confronted with the fact that people are leaving his ministry and going to Jesus instead. It would have been easy for him to become insecure, competitive or resentful. Instead, John responds with remarkable freedom: “He must become greater; I must become less.” This message looks at the danger of comparison, why it has such power over us, and how knowing who we are and what God has called us to can free us from constantly measuring our lives against everyone else. Speaker: Tim Harms Main Text: John 3
