What We Believe

The Gospel
We believe the Gospel is the good news that God, our Creator and Father, out of His great love for us, has stepped into our world to rescue and renew it. Through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, He has overcome the powers of sin, evil, and death, opening the way for us to be restored to relationship with Him and with one another. By the power of the Holy Spirit, God is making all things new, inviting us to become part of His Kingdom—a community marked by grace, hope, and love. All of this is for God’s great glory and our profound joy.

Our Convictions
As part of the universal church, we hold to the ecumenical creeds (the Apostles’, Nicene-Constantinopolitan, Chalcedonian and Athanasian Creeds). As Protestant Christians, we affirm that justification is by faith alone, and stand in the tradition of Reformation confessional documents like the Heidelberg Catechism, although we believe water baptism is only for believers. As contemporary evangelicals, we also affirm modern statements such as the Lausanne Covenant and the Evangelical Alliance statement of faith.

Distinctives
As a part of the Newfrontiers and Confluence family of churches, we join in their shared values, beliefs, mission and relationships. In our theology, we are generally reformed in our emphasis on the grace of God and justification by faith alone, and generally charismatic in our doctrine and pursuit of the gifts of the Spirit.
